As the temperature warms up, and we welcome nature back to life, spring is the perfect time to kick off outdoor upgrades. Whether you’re looking to enhance your home’s curb appeal, add functionality to your outdoor spaces, or bring a touch of timeless elegance to your landscape or outdoor living design, natural stone veneer walls are a versatile and stunning option. These 4 projects showcase different ways to incorporate them--and how they can transform your space!
Montauk Blend Mosaic supplied by our Authorized Dealer, NH Thinstone
The foundation features Montauk Blend Mosaic, and in a creative design by the team at Unique Stone, also transitions into an accent wall. This stone collection combines three popular quarried stones, for a stunning color range that includes dark grey, light grey, tan, and hints of pink. The color palette enhances the home as well as the landscape design, and offers a perfect backdrop for showcasing the long-awaited presence of spring!
Colonial Tan Roughly Squares & Rectangles supplied by Outdoor Escapes of New England
The details make all the difference, and that's what sets the natural stone project above apart. With a decorative touch to elevate the atmosphere in the outdoor living space, this stone wall was crafted by Division One Landscaping with Colonial Tan Roughly Squares and Rectangles. With a broad range of colors including brown, tan, and light grey, with a slight shimmer in the sunlight, the craftsmanship and the sleek, modern look of the stone, add warmth and elegance to the space.
Fieldstone Dark Ashlar Accent Wall
When it comes to multipurpose features, a thoughtful design can make the most of functionality and visual appeal simultaneously. The "stone wall" project shown above is a great example, and is actually the back of a fireplace in a poolside outdoor living space! Fieldstone Dark Ashlar is used to set the tone throughout the space, with the combined talents of Beechwood Landscape and The Timeless Gardener. Dark and light brown, with occasional reddish brown, typically define this collection's color range, but the Ashlar pattern features the inside cut of the stone, showing lighter shades with some blue-grey, similar to bluestone. The pattern also brings the best of three different existing patterns into one, offering more opportunities for design customization.
Old New England Rounds Landscape Wall
The last project featured here showcases a more traditional natural stone wall, which is also multifunctional. It adds charm to the landscape design, creates space for greenery and plantings, and can also be used as a seating wall while enjoying the view and some sunshine. Blue Claw Associates used Old New England Rounds to add smooth edges and texture, and warm, earthy tones, to the landscape and the property.
Natural stone veneer walls are a rewarding way to embrace spring--and can define and elevate outdoor living spaces and landscape designs, creating a beautiful and functional environment to relax and entertain. Whether you're using natural stone to provide structural support or to increase aesthetic appeal, or both--skilled craftsmanship ensures the feature blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
