Written by Lisa Miller | 7/1/26 7:15 PM

You see the finished fireplace. You admire the backyard patio. You picture family gatherings around an outdoor kitchen, or the welcoming entrance to a new home.

But before natural stone becomes part of those spaces, there's an entire process working behind the scenes to bring each project to life. From transforming raw stone into Thinstone Veneer, to carefully preparing each order for shipment, every step reflects the craftsmanship, teamwork, and attention to detail that go into every project.

Here are 5 things you may not know about natural stone manufacturing, and why they matter.

1. No two pieces of natural stone are exactly alike.

Variations in color, texture, shape, and character are what make natural stone so appealing. Those natural differences create depth and authenticity that can't be manufactured, giving every installation its own unique personality. Whether you're designing a fireplace, a landscape design, or an outdoor living space, those subtle variations are part of what makes the finished project feel timeless.

2. Loading a truck is about much more than moving pallets.
Before a shipment heads to one of our Authorized Dealers, the stone has been carefully selected, manufactured, inspected, packaged, and staged for delivery. Production, Logistics, and Sales all work together to make sure each order arrives ready for the next step. When you see a truck leaving our yard, you're seeing the final step in a process built on planning, communication, and teamwork.

3. One of the biggest innovations in natural stone has been Thinstone Veneer.
By reducing the thickness while maintaining the authentic look of Full-Bed stone, Natural Thinstone Veneer makes installation more efficient, allows more material to be shipped on each truck, and helps contractors complete projects faster. The result is the same timeless beauty of natural stone with added efficiencies for builders, masons, homeowners, and dealers alike.

4. Stone Corners are Carefully Crafted

Corner pieces are manufactured specifically to create the appearance of traditional Full-Bed stone construction. Producing them takes precision, experience, and careful attention throughout the manufacturing process. It's one of those details many people never notice, but it plays a big role in creating an authentic finished look.

5. Every Pallet is Prepared with the Next Project in Mind

The work doesn't end when the stone is manufactured. Each pallet is organized, secured, and prepared with transportation and installation in mind. From production to shipping, every step is designed to help ensure our Authorized Dealers and their customers receive quality products that are ready for the job ahead. It's one more example of how craftsmanship extends beyond the stone.

Beautiful natural stone projects don't begin when the first piece is installed; they begin with the people, processes, and craftsmanship behind every pallet that leaves our facility.
