5 Modern Ledgestone Veneers

Ledgestone veneer has always been popular but as the trend in modern design increases so does the demand for ledgestone. When we compare ledgestone sales in 2017 v 2018 (YTD) we have seen a 12% increase (approximately). When I ask our Authorized Dealers and other industry experts what they attribute the majority mention an increase in modern and contemporary design trends.

We should be clear that it's not only ledgestone that can provide a modern look and not all ledgestone is considered modern or contemporary. We took a look at some of the trends across our product line and throughout the industry to determine the five we wanted to share in this article.

5 Modern Ledgestone Veneers

When using ledgestone for your modern or contemporary design you'll find a lot of straight lines with thin pieces. It's part of the reason natural stone panels are increasing in popularity for interior and exterior designs. We have also noticed a trend in the colors:

  • Dark: Black, Blue, and Deep Greys
  • Light: Silver, Light Greys, and Tan
  • Blends: A mix of modern and contemporary colors

Now that we have built up the suspense, here are five great options when selecting a modern ledgestone veneer:

1. American Mist: This is a black granite from the Northeast that has white striations when split and hints of green. American Mist ledgestone is popular for modern design but can provide a unique natural, European Castle look when working with mosaic or roughly square and rec patterns.

2. Harbor Mist: Those of you looking for a silver/grey contemporary look may consider this beautiful stone. It's consistent in color and is often referred to as "the best kept secret" since it's overshadowed by some more popular stones with similar colors.

3. Thinstak Veneer™ Panels: This is an easy one because of the current design trends. We introduced our Thinstak Veneer panels a few weeks ago and they are already taking off. They are great for almost any project calling for a contemporary look and minimize installation time. A great natural stone alternative for anyone considering faux or manufactured stone.

4. Sterling Tan: This products has all the beautiful colors you would expect and is incredibly versatile. We have seen it used for both modern and traditional looks. The natural blend of tan, grey, brown, and beige have made it a success since we introduced it in 2017. This year we added Sterling Tan flagging and steppers which have been very popular in their short history.

5. Colonial Tan & Spruce Mtn: These are two of the most popular stones in our catalog. These beautiful stones from New England have a long history of modern design. Whether it's ledgestone, ashlar, or flagging, these two will always been popular with the contemporary crowd.
