The Rise of Taconic Ridge: A (Darker) Delgado Stone Blend

Some of our best ideas start with a simple question: How can we build on what already works?

One of our most popular blends has become a favorite for designers, masons, and homeowners alike. Its balance of texture, tone, and natural variation has made it a go-to for projects ranging from classic New England homes to more contemporary designs. Now, we’re introducing a new blend that builds on that foundation, while bringing something entirely new to the palette!

Taconic Ridge begins with two stones from Connecticut Blend, and pairs them with two additional existing collections. Combining these materials in a new way creates a blend that feels both familiar and fresh.

The result is a richer, deeper color palette that leans into the growing demand for darker natural stone. Layers of charcoal, deep gray, and natural variation create a look that feels bold yet timeless, and equally at home in modern designs or traditional architecture. Like most of our other Natural Stone Veneer Collections, Taconic Ridge is available as Thinstone and Full-Bed Veneer.

Because the blend is built from collections that customers already know and trust, it maintains the same authentic character, durability, and craftsmanship that define Delgado Stone products.

Collaboration in progress: where new collections begin!

Darker palettes continue to grow in popularity across residential and commercial design. Whether used for a striking exterior, a fireplace feature wall, or landscape elements, deeper tones can add contrast, sophistication, and visual depth to a project.

Taconic Ridge was developed with those design preferences in mind, giving architects, designers, masons, and homeowners another option when a project calls for a moodier, more dramatic palette. Creating new blends from well-loved collections also helps us continue growing and adapting alongside our customers.

By thoughtfully combining existing materials, we can introduce new visual possibilities while making the most of our resources and production capabilities. It also helps us provide greater flexibility when it comes to availability and lead times, an important factor for projects working within tight schedules!

At its core, this new blend reflects what we value most: craftsmanship, collaboration, and the natural beauty of stone. By building on collections that have proven themselves over time, we’re able to create something new that still feels authentic, versatile, and designed to elevate the spaces where it’s used. We’re excited to see how our newest blend inspires your next project!
