Delgado Stone Shares Sourcing Expertise on Trade Show Panel

Attending industry trade shows like Hardscape North America (HNA) helps us stay connected with the natural stone community, including our Authorized Dealers and customers. The education opportunities also allow us to share our passion for natural stone materials, stay up to date with trends and technology, and continue connecting with industry experts. Our Director of National Sales, JP Acosta, represented Delgado Stone in a panel discussion called "Tips for Sourcing Natural Stone & How to Make More Money," alongside other industry leaders.

The panel was a first for Delgado Stone and consisted of natural stone suppliers and hardscape dealers who shared their perspectives on sourcing natural stone. The interactive session offered tips on making stone buying easier and streamlining the buying process--with insights from professionals who are both supplying and buying stone.  

A few of the key topics included in the discussion were:

• There is a huge value in understanding what clients are looking for, asking a lot of questions, and being honest and upfront about manufacturing capabilities. Transparency is paramount in our industry.
• It is important to create positive outcomes for the client by enlisting the help of a local distributor who can get the materials clients want, even when that means losing the job.
• When the members of the panel got involved earlier in a project lifecycle (even before the design phase) they saw a drastic improvement in the overall success of the project. They mentioned again how the more information they had and the earlier they had it allows them to be more supportive for their clients.

JP said he enjoyed spending time alongside well-known industry leaders--and having the chance to collaborate with them on this panel. "It's an honor to be part of a distinguished panel of industry leaders who shared a wealth of knowledge about their experience over the last 30+ years," he shared. "It was great to share my experiences and hear their perspectives about some of the leading industry topics. The Q&A portion of the discussion also brought up some pain points the attendees were experiencing, which was helpful for adjusting processes as we continue to improve and grow."
