Elevate Your Pool Design with Waterfalls (and Natural Stone)

Water has an innate abililty to enhance any outdoor space--and adding a waterfall to a pool design takes it to the next level! Waterfalls evoke relaxation and tranquility, and set the tone for leisure and an escape from the daily rush and routines. When it comes to building materials, natural stone offers the beauty, versatility, and durability of a water feature that will stand the test of time. Here are three pool projects that showcase waterfalls and natural stone together, and how they complement different designs.

CT Blend Roughly Squares & Rectangles Accent Wall and WaterfallAccent wall and fountain backdrop features Connecticut Blend Roughly Squares & Rectangles.

Outdoor living spaces can be as simple as a patio, or more expansive, like the project in the photo above which includes a pool, outdoor kitchen, covered seating area, and firepit! Landscapes by Aurelindo used Connecticut Blend in the Roughly Squares & Rectangles pattern to accent several areas of the design, including the waterfalls on the side of the pool. It adds visual appeal and charm, while doubling as an accent wall from the patio side, tying the design together from every perspective.

Old New England Rounds pool and waterfallOld New England Rounds cover this Soake Pool and create a fountain backdrop.

You don't need a lot of space to make an impact with a pool--or a water feature. In this project (photo above) Old New England Rounds cover this plunge pool by Soake Pools, and create a backdrop for the waterfall, which takes center stage in this at-home oasis. The smooth, rounded edges of the stone add a classic waterside feel, and the combination of natural stone and water sets a perfect stage for relaxation.

American Mist Mosaic Pool Coping and WaterfallAmerican Mist Mosaic pool coping enhances this stunning pool and landscape design.

The project above is the ultimate in bringing different elements of water together! Multiple waterfalls flow over the American Mist Mosaic retaining wall, which helps transition the landscape into the pool. The same stone is also used for coping, which flatters the unique shape of the pool. The different features blend seamlessly into one another, creating a sense of continuity and connection with nature.

Adding a waterfall feature poolside is a great way to captivate the senses and enhance different elements of an outdoor living space! The versatility of natural stone allows for creativity and customization, enabling you to design a truly unique and personalized outdoor escape that reflects your individual taste and lifestyle.
