When it comes to living our Brand Promises--to make it easy and provide exceptional service and quality--there's no greater validation than a happy customer! We always love it when masons, contractors, and homeowners share their projects and tell us about their experiences, so we were excited to get a call recently from CJ Tilton, owner of Full Tilt Plumbing. With help from Pinterest, our Fireplace Design Inspiration, and advisement from our Authorized Dealer, New England Specialty Stone, CJ and his girlfriend chose to incorporate Connecticut Blend Ashlar into their new home build in Maine!
The Connecticut Blend Ashlar fireplace adds warmth and color to this home in Maine.
CJ, a plumber and business owner, said he'd always wanted a stone fireplace, and was excited to explore his hidden masonry talents when he built this one himself. "The stone was great to work with, and I look forward to using more of it in the future," he told us.
Connecticut Blend adds the color range from five different Connecticut-quarried stones, with a color range including blues, greys, tans, brown, and cream. Ashlar is a combination of three different Thinstone Veneer patterns: Strip, Ledgestone, and Small Squares (from the Roughly Squares & Rectangles pattern.)
The Connecticut Blend Ashlar fireplace enhances the open layout and wood floors and accents.
CJ's fireplace also serves as a TV backdrop, and the finishing touch--the mantel--is made from reclaimed wood from a barn dating back to 1820, which he bought from a local resource in Cumberland, ME. The result is a rustic look that showcases the beauty of natural stone and wood, and the open layout creates a warm, inviting atmosphere to enjoy from every angle!
Thank you, CJ, for sharing your project with us; it looks amazing! For more information and natural stone collection options, download our catalog.
