5 Reasons an Outdoor Fireplace is a Must-Have

One of our favorite and frequently featured projects are fireplaces, and with summer just ahead, we're gearing up for late-night barbecues, hanging out with family and friends, and newly inspired outdoor living space upgrades. For the last two years, outdoor living projects have been a priority for homeowners who are devoting more resources to fun and leisure they can enjoy in the comfort of their own homes. If you've been considering the possibility, here are five reasons adding an outdoor fireplace will enhance your living space and your daily life.

1. Outdoor fireplaces are a built-in invitation for great conversation, laughter, and times to remember. They're a natural center for gathering, and whether you're adding onto a backyard entertainment area or making the new fireplace the focal point, you'll have the perfect spot for socializing.
2. Your fireplace design adds personality to your outdoor living space, whether it connects to an indoor theme, or you use it to create an entirely different vibe. You can see in the photos featured here, as well as in our regular #fireplacefriday features on Instagram, each fireplace is as unique as the location, materials, and creativity behind designing it.
3. Outdoor fireplaces provide fun for the whole family and for all ages. While adults are likely to enjoy comfortable seating, beverages, and good company, you can usually rally the kids into making S'mores and listening to campfire stories.
4. Extending the outdoor living season is one of the best parts of having an outdoor fireplace! While warming up on cooler summer nights (especially after enjoying a pool or hot tub) is high on the priority list, you can also enjoy open air well into the winter when spending time fireside.
5. According to a survey among real estate agents, a backyard fire pit is one of the most in-demand outdoor features! It may add value to your home depending on the design you choose and the area you live in, which adds a bonus to the joy and memories you're making in the meantime.
