Product Spotlight: Old New England Wall Sawn Flagstone

Sawn Flagstone is a visually appealing, resilient, and increasingly popular material for outdoor living and landscape design projects! It enhances different features including patios, walkways, firepit surrounds, and more--with its precise cut, consistent thickness, and clean edges. The manufacturing process ensures that the stones fit together seamlessly, saving time and labor on the jobsite, while creating an elegant, sophisticated finish. Where Split Flagstone is known for its natural, rugged shapes, the Sawn Flagstone option offers a modern, sleek look that preserves the natural beauty of the stone. This month's Product Spotlight features Old New England Wall Sawn Flagstone, with an earthy color palette that includes tan, cream, grey, and brown, and a weathered exterior.

Key Features

Specifications: Old New England Wall Sawn Flagstone is approximately 2" thick. Each 1.75-2.25 ton pallet offers approximately 65-75 square feet of coverage.

Finish: Sawn Flagstone has a sawn bottom, for ease of installation, and a thermal top, which adds slip-resistance. A helpful way to compare how the finished product looks, compared to Split Flagstone, is to refer to this previous blog post.

Versatility: Old New England Wall's earthy tones help create a connection to nature in various outdoor living and landscape features. The color palette offers a range of earthy tones that are subtle enough to accommodate different styles, materials, and existing features, but varied enough to make a statement all on their own!

5 Ways to Incorporate Old New England Wall Flagging

  • Natural Stone Patios (see top photo) featuring Sawn Flagstone showcase its visual appeal and color range over a larger surface area, setting the tone for the entire space. Durability, resilience to high traffic, and low maintenance are additional functional benefits.
  • Fire Pit Surrounds are a great way to incorporate Sawn Flagstone, even in a smaller area (and coordinate materials or colors with other elements of the outdoor living space.) The Sawn Flagstone gives fire pits a more permanent feel, and carves out space for seating and enjoying company. (See photo below.)

  • Sawn Flagstone Walkways create a clean, elegant look while connecting different areas of the property. Walkways are an opportunity to add color, texture, and personality to landscape designs. They also help break up larger sections of the landscape, and enhance curb appeal and exterior designs.
  • You can also combine Old New England Wall Sawn Flagstone with Old New England Wall Thinstone Veneer in other aspects of the design to enhance color, texture, and consistency. To explore how you might incorporate both to enhance different features, visit our previous Product Spotlight: Old New England Wall Mosaic.
  • Sawn Flagstone can also be used for pool decks, pool coping, or garden paths--and as interior flooring to create seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.
