4 Ways to Boost Your Business Using Facebook

Social media has become a valuable tool for connection in many different kinds of businesses. In the home improvement industry, it is a convenient way to educate followers about products, services, and events, and share inspirational resources. Facebook provides the opportunity to reach potential customers, increase brand awareness, and drive both online and in-store sales! Whether you're a small, family-owned store or a larger retailer, here are four ways you can use Facebook effectively to boost your business.

1. Showcase Customer Projects

Sharing completed project photos is beneficial in two ways: you're endorsing your customers and their craftsmanship, and you're inspiring followers to dream about and plan for their own projects. (See example above from a Delgado Stone post, featuring a natural stone project.) Try posting photos of your products used in finished spaces, or when possible, include before and after shots to illustrate the transformation!

2. Feature Products and Tips

Familiarize customers with the variety of products you sell, especially the ones you're known for and specialize in. Share photos of your key products and brands, and a brief explanation of why customers choose them. You can also feature different product photos--and tips for how your customers can make the best selection for their individual project needs and preferences. Providing service and establishing yourself as a resource is a great way to encourage new sales.

3. Share Short Videos

According to Hubspot, 89% of consumers say they want to see more videos from brands! People are more likely to watch videos than read posts, and you can be most successful at reaching your audience when you keep videos under one minute. A few things you can do in under a minute: feature a popular product, share a demo of how to use a new product, offer a seasonal project tip, or show a behind-the-scenes look at your daily operations.

4. Tag Customers, Partners, and Brands

When you tag the brands, masons, contractors, and homeowners you work with, it's an opportunity for all of you to support and acknowledge each other, which helps build your relationships. It also helps build your network! Whether you're sharing projects, events, or product info, use the tag feature to include individuals or business pages. And, when others tag you, use the Share button to engage your own followers in the interaction. (See an example in the photo above.)

Using Facebook to promote your products and services also involves promoting the people and brands you work with, which is a win for everyone. It's a great way to take networking online, and to inspire conversation when people stop by in person! For more tips on social media in general, this blog post may be helpful for you, too.
