Design Inspiration: Connecticut Blend Featuring Custom Patterns

Each natural stone veneer collection has its own range of colors, textures, and variations, especially the popular Connecticut Blend Collection, a combination of five individual stones. The full palette includes blues, greys, tans, browns, and creams, and the color range also depends on the pattern the stone is cut into, and whether it features the stone face or the end grain of the stone. With the option of five different patterns for Connecticut Blend--Mosaic, Strip, Ledgestone, Roughly Squares & Rectangles, and Ashlar--there are many ways to individualize each project. Even with several options, some projects are designed using a custom mix of patterns, we love seeing the imagination and creativity of homeowners, masons, and designers! We dedicated a recent blog post to customized colors created with our collections, while this one showcases how custom patterns offer even more opportunities for personalizing a variety of projects with different outcomes using the same stone collection.

CT Blend with custom pattern pool wall

This pool project features Connecticut Blend in a custom mix of patterns.

Connecticut Blend (supplied by Gagne & Son) adds color to the exterior design and landscape in the pool project featured above--and the mix of patterns in the stone wall adds texture and a unique look. The craftsmanship of New England Landscapes enhances the property and makes the pool the center attraction while creating a relaxing, peaceful atmosphere.

In the new home build featured in the photo above, a custom pattern blend installed by Heyl Masonry creates stunning results. Multiple shapes and pieces coordinate with the other materials and add contrast--and the color range is even more notable with the different cuts of stone (supplied by The Rockshop at NH Thinstone.) Even though the blend of patterns is customized, the talents and attention to detail of the masonry team look like the pieces were made to fit together.

The accent wall in the photo above is another great example of a customized pattern featuring Connecticut Blend (supplied by Landcare Stratham Hill.) The handiwork of the team at Northeast Walls and Patios resulted in a feature that brings different colors and elements of the room together (and also uses different installation techniques on the wall and the floor of the design.) The project incorporates a variation of all five of the existing patterns to make this a standout feature and a tribute to their team's creativity and vision!

You can achieve a variety of different and unique looks with Connecticut Blend and the five patterns, and no two finished projects are ever the same. With imagination and attention to detail, though, an experienced mason can transform an interior or exterior, or landscape space with truly original natural stone features. We look forward to seeing to being inspired by future projects, and by the teams who bring our products to life. For more natural stone project ideas, download our catalog.
