Featured Project: Cedar Creek River Rounds

We love seeing our products become inspired spaces and new favorite features, so this do-it-yourself interior fireplace project in Tolland County, Connecticut was exciting to be part of! When the homeowners first reached out through our website's Live Chat, they asked about the differences between the three rounds collections: Old New England Rounds, Newport River Rounds, and Cedar Creek River Rounds. After learning about the variations in size and color schemes, and considering other features in the room, they purchased Cedar Creek River Rounds through one of our Authorized Dealers, Harken's Landscape Supply.

The homeowners explained that their goal for this project was to create a focal point and to add some weight to the open floor plan, which transformed the whole main floor. "We wanted to make it look natural and professional, yet have a uniqueness that would be special to us," they explained. "After opening the pallet of stones we received, we found a heart-shaped stone that we knew had to be our focal point!" The husband-wife team worked together to cut sheetrock, install cement board, scratch coat, mix the mortar to adhere to the stone, and pipe in the finishing details, they shared. They topped off the new fireplace with a reclaimed piece of wood finished by a friend. "We love our finished project and look forward to enjoying it for many years to come!" the homeowners said.
